Syracuse, NY.---Juan Cruz is back in Syracuse, and he's putting his artistic touch on the city's Near West Side.

In 1990, children on the Near West Side helped Juan create a mural in the neighborhood. Now, some of those children who are now adults are bringing their children to revitalize the mural on the Onondaga Commons that faces Shonnard Street.

Read contributing writer Dayelin Roman's story in today's edition of City Neighbors.

Five years ago, Juan returned to his native Puerto Rico. Martin Yenawine, co-owner of Onondaga Commons invited Juan to Syracuse after he noticed the mural 'getting ratty around the ears,'' and felt there was no one better to restore it than the original crew.

Welcome back, Juan.
