Many health and human service organizations dot the ten block perimeter of Onondaga Commons. In addition, a number of our tenants have as their mission to serve this community with specialized programs. Building on this, Syracuse University, LeMoyne College, and OCC have all placed students in these agencies and organizations to get real life hands on experiences in the community. Central to our mission is the understanding that strength emerges from embracing the benefits of collective participation that includes partnerships between both the public and private sectors. Ignoring the tax status of organizations and instead concentrating on the efficacy of program offerings, encouraging creativity and innovation of service delivery, and improving efficiency by sharing resources have all been hallmarks of Onondaga Commons.
